Healing Isn't Becoming Someone New
Many people arrive at their first session hoping to become someone else. Someone calmer. More confident. Less anxious, less sensitive, less too much. They have a picture of who they should be, and they want me to help them get there. I understand that wish. But after more than thirteen years of this work, I've noticed that healing rarely makes people into someone new. More often, it returns them to someone they already were.
